New Offerings From Henry, 2017

The winter months are always my favorite time but not likely for reasons you'd expect. While gun companies tend to release firearms all throughout the year, they generally make it known what is coming up for the year in the cold of winter.

Maybe it's to give us something to look forward to when the warm weather hits. I'm not sure. But, Henry Repeating Arms is at it again with several new models coming down the line for 2017.

Some of the models on the list include several shotguns, to include a lever action in .410 (which is awesome). The other shotguns are single shots in 12, 20, and .410 with varying barrel lengths. Speaking of single shot long guns, there are also a few offerings in single shot rifle cartridges, as well. I would like to say here that, as far as I know, this is the first time in their long history that Henry is offering shotguns.

In the email I was sent, they mentioned an updated list of tribute rifles to include the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Second Amendment. Both of these are pretty, as you can see in the pictures.

I think the one I'm most excited for, though, is a lever action rifle chambered in .327 Federal/.32 H&R Magnum. As you may have read in the past, I am a fan of these cartridges as low-recoil options for concealed carry revolvers. There are quite a few options out there in handgun form, but not a lot has been done with rifles.

While they're great for low-recoil concealed carry, these cartridges are also great for hunting applications.

I'm hopeful that with another company, such as Henry, offering a firearm like this rifle chambered in .327/.32 H&R, that these little, but powerful, cartridges will begin to pick up steam and continue to carve out a solid niche in our marketplace. Make no mistake, if you can hunt game in your area with this caliber, one of these rifles will make an awesome addition to your collection.

These will be brass framed Big Boy Classics and Big Boy Carbines, with an MSRP of just under the $900 mark. .327/.32 H&R will also come in the Steel versions of the Big Boys, with an MSRP of about $50 less.
