Whether you are a gun collector, enthusiast, practical or professional shooter or simply carry a gun for self defense, you may have thought about getting a bulletproof vest. That is if you do not already own one. If you are familiar with the deadly power of guns, you should  also be thinking about how important it is to protect yourself in case a dangerous situation comes up.

Body Armor Can Save your Life

Wearing body armor can save your life; it’s that simple. Gone are the days of bulky and heavy armor. Advances in technology and innovation along with research and development have produced lighter and more effective body armor. Take a look at the video and see how helpful a good quality vest can be in protecting you from life-threatening shots. If you don’t have body armor yet, maybe it’s time you got yourself one. You never know when it might come handy.

Let's take a look at how the armor works and how it can help you make it out alive after a compromising situation:

The body armor is put to the test with an FN Five-seveN 5.7x28mm.

The armor takes the brunt of 6 different types of rounds, namely standard 5.7x28mm centerfire, Hornady V-Max and lead-free cartridges. Two rounds each were fired at the vest and not a single bullet could pass through.

After the ballistics test, it's time to take a close look at the armor.

A close inspection would reveal the bullet holes but the ballistic gel torso did not get any bullet. This proves that the AR500 Body Armor is really effective and this is true with other personal armor products.

The ballistics test is pushed even further by using a 12-gauge lever action shotgun:

Not even a shot shell can go through the plate, as far as this test goes.

Here is a photo of the armor plate which has been cut open showing the spent slug and the wad, both of which are deformed but still intact. The plate carrier may have been ripped apart but there is no penetration.

A dramatic slow motion shot of the armor plate bouncing off the holder as the slug hits the dummy.

The sheer blow of the slug hitting the chest cavity is observed as the plate flies off the holder upon impact, which could result in broken ribs and sternum. However there is still a great chance for you to survive.

Is there anyone that sells good armor on a budget or payment for us on a fixed income who can’t afford the big bucks to invest in the good stuff but yet we desire to buy the good stuff and buy cheap ad then have to work our way up to the better best jumps and have stuff laying around that we will have to either store or try to sell as used ??????

    Body armor ranges in cost.
Level 3A will stop pistol rounds. You can get that in a VERY cheap semi-covert plate carrier for $199 from Botach.
Patriot Plate has inexpensive steel armor. If you want to spend more go with ceramic. You’ll need to replace ceramic if it’s used, unlike steel, or if you drop it.
The cheapest steel armor I’ve seen is ~$100 for a front and back plate, $49 for a cheap plate carrier, $79 for a better one. You can spend thousands if you prefer.
AR500 is good armor, 46100E is as well, Level 3 will stop most rifle rounds, Level 4 will stop even more.
You get what you pay for. What’s your life worth? More to the point, What’s your WIFE’S life worth.

to all who read the above post, a level 3 vest IS NOT 3A……………..LEVEL 3/3+ IS CAPABLE OF RIFLE STRIKES, LEVEL 3A IS NOT!
