The Colt Lightweight Commander stainless is one of those classic firearms that has always been popular until now. It has an alloy frame which is light, easy to carry, and shorter than a full-size 1911 design gun.

This handgun is considered one of the ultimate carry 1911s. We tested one of these gun models in the past for three days with no malfunction.

A few hundred rounds of firing this pistol with its accuracy unaffected were very impressive. It feels pretty good in the hand as well as shooting with it's extended trigger.

The Lightweight Commander has an overall length of 7.75 inches and a weight of 27 oz. Let's take a look at the other features of this thing of beauty made by Colt.

Unlike most handguns, the Colt Lightweight Commander has a comfortable alignment feature that makes it different from the rest. This feature of the Lightweight Commander provides instant vertical and horizontal alignment.

Not all shooters are comfortable with this gun setup though others claim it improves your accuracy once you get used to it.

This gun has 7 or 8 rounds .45 ACP caliber magazine, as well as a 9-round capacity for a Colt Lightweight Commander 9mm. The weight of the handgun is definitely a plus for most people since it's easier to keep.

For the downside, the OEM magazines are always noted to not go into full battery. However, most aftermarket brands fit perfectly in this badass.

Overall Verdict

The Colt Lightweight Commander has a great value for its price. Its lightweight feature proves to be the best thing about this weapon.

It is comfortable and has a great feel on its grip. This is definitely recommendable to the casual gun enthusiasts and even for the gun junkies.
