The Beretta 486 Parallelo is a side-by-side shotgun excellent for the gentleman hunter. It's a firearm made to look as traditional as possible yet engineered to gun perfection on the inside.
Beretta 486 Parallelo Sophisticated Round-Action
The Beretta 486 Parallelo is a round-bodied, silky smooth shotgun with a classic frame. There may be a big difference with the price tag, but its elegance can be compared with Merkel firearms due to its beautifully made engravings on the receiver. An earlier model prior to this shotgun is the Beretta 471 Silver Hawk with the same engravings, though the 486 Parallelo was manufactured to provide new innovations to an already kickass shotgun. You bet Beretta industries will do their part to keep up with the stiff competition among their rivals.
This 2-shot capacity side-by-side shotgun is available in barrel lengths of 26 and 28 inches. It shoots 12 and 20 gauge ammunitions with front bead sites adding up to its classic design. Along with the Walnut stocks, this gun weighs 7.2 lbs overall. This model is the first Beretta side-by-side shotgun to have leaf springs in its redesigned trigger. The chokes are made to improve patterns in what's called the Optima HP.
This 486 Parallelo model is incredibly comfortable to shoot compared to the Silver Hawk. The balance is superb and contributes to the gun's accuracy when shooting, with less kick than the previous side-by-side Beretta shotgun. As for its durability, this gun incorporates the Beretta Triblock Technology for a sturdier connection between the tubes and monoblock.
The 486 Parallelo does not rely on the buttstock for its balance. Regardless of the stock's wood density, this shotgun is steady as it should be. This Beretta also features a gravitational safety that automatically locks the trigger in case the gun falls to the ground. This shotgun is made to provide the owner everything he needs from comfort to performance. But then again it's too expensive for the average shooter, I wouldn't recommend this shotgun if there's no really good reason to purchase it.
This shotgun is a fine piece of equipment with a reasonable price of $5350 to match its quality and features. But there are numerous options out there good enough for field use, hunting, and home defense. It's a shooter's dream to own a Beretta 486 Parallelo and it will continue to be a dream for me at this point.

I still want to give credit to Beretta Industries for their brilliance in making the 486 Parallelo. They successfully made a perfect blend of elegance and quality in a firearm packed with hi-tech features no other classic design shotgun has. Upland game and clay shooting will never be the same with this Beretta.
