I STILL love my Glock 43 for cc. Reliable. My Ruger GP 100 (4″ barrel, Cherrywood custom grip) is always dependable. Doesn’t jam and will stop whatever is in it’s path. Accurate at a distance as well. Yes, they are only 6 shots with these sidearms, but I see it this way; should I need more than 6 bullets, I’m in the wrong area of town. But, I always have an extra clip for my Glock and a speed load for my Ruger, just in case.

Trust me, a) you don’t need to be in any particular area of town to find yourself facing a situation where 6 bullets are not optima, and b) we sometimes do indeed find ourselves in the wrong part of town for a wide range of reasons. Not to say a G43 or revolver is a poor choice, just saying that you need to beware of a mindset that lulls you into a complacency that 6 bullets are enough. Trust me, I can tell you from personal experience that mag changes while being shot at are difficult and fraught with opportunities for everything to go sideways very quickly.

I carry an extra clip on me. Also, I don’t miss. When the 1st person drops, how brave do you think the rest will be? You overestimate the courage of criminals. Drop 1 or 2 and the rest will be not to thrilled to continue to engage. And sorry, but I stay away from bad neighborhoods. 21 years as a civilian and I have managed quite well. Retired 10th SFG . I am used to combat situations. I don’t get rattled. I am well focused, well disciplined.
