Gun Free zones don't work. We all know that.
People are starting to smell the coffee, folks. More public schools are allowing armed staff to take care of their children than ever before. And even some college campuses are beginning to wake up to the fact that guns can be used by people to take life, and save life.
The latest school to allow responsible people with guns is the Okay school district in Oklahoma. The authorities from the Sooner State recognize that there just isn't enough police protection to keep everyone safe, so they're allowing teachers to carry weapons.
Let me be crystal clear on something, here folks. There will never be enough police protection to keep us safe. It doesn't matter if you're in the most populated or densely patrolled area on the face of the planet. Criminals who want to kill, rape or maim, will always find a way to do so.
Because that simple fact remains, I'll keep my gun.
Two other interesting developments have recently occurred, as well. A bill that would allow campus carry just passed the Florida House by a ruling of 80-37. It still has a way to go, before it is made law, but things are definitely going in the right direction down there.
Finally, Kent, a town in Connecticut (of all places!) considers arming teachers in a plan similar to that of what Ohio has done with a program called Faster Saves Lives. The basic premise, is that the sooner you can respond to an active shooter, the sooner it'll be over.
Makes sense. Well, it does if you have any sense about you. Some people just won't get it, though. What do you think? Should properly trained teachers be allowed to carry on school property? How about campus carry? Where do you stand there?
