Gun World Up In Arms Over Facebook Decision To Disallow “Sales”
Published

2A supporters are pissed about the Facebook decision to ban the sale of guns.
The internet is up in arms, literally, over the largest social media website—which, unless you’ve been living under a rock on mars, is Facebook—disallowing the sale of guns on their site. In an effort to combat this decision, many of the groups have changed their names, and some of them are hilarious. Sadly, Mark Zuckerberg is obviously not an idiot and will be able to figure out that “Tactical Spoons of Pennsylvania” is related to guns.
Yes, I’m actually a part of that group, and when I first read the new name, I laughed out loud.
Either way, this could be seen as a blow to those of us who like to peruse these FB pages in search for our next gun or parts purchase. The gun-control radicals are touting this as a win to prevent the “gun-show and internet sales loophole,” which, we all know doesn’t exist.
Let me walk you through a day in the life of one of these Facebook “gun sales” pages, in case you’ve never been on one before. I’ve posted a shotgun at some point in the last few months. I actually still have the gun because the one person interested didn’t want to go through an FFL. I refused the sale which is what a majority of us do. Here is an example of what happens:
- Post gun for sale with pictures, price and location.
- Receive criticism for price.
- Receive criticism for type of gun and condition.
- Receive offers (most of them low-balls).
- Accept offer.
- Set a time and place for purchase – to include FFL details.
- Go to FFL to get the background check done.
- Pay FFL.
- Pay for the gun.
- Go home with gun if background check clears.
- Post feedback about transaction.

Here in Pennsylvania, we can totally transfer a long gun—like a shotgun—to someone else without the use of an FFL. However, people don’t generally do that, because they’re afraid that it could come back to bite them in the arse later on if that gun is ever used in a crime.
So, most of the time, guns are sold in the presence of someone who can conduct a background check. Sadly, the liberal media and our radical politicians don’t want you to know the actual facts.
It seems as if there will be a flood of pro-gun people leaving Facebook over this as the rush to start their own websites and join other social media sites takes place. It won’t matter much for FB, who has millions of people taking advantage of just how easy they make it to stay in contact with people.
People are rightly upset. However, one thing they fail to realize, is that the social media giant isn’t owned by We The People. So, we really have no say in how the company is ran. We could all threaten to leave, but our friends won’t, and then who would we stalk on the internet?
One thing is for certain: The landscape is changing. More and more, people are against guns. Those of us who choose to support the second amendment and the right to self-defense have an uphill battle ahead of us, for sure. Sadly, there isn’t a whole lot we can do, in addition to what we’re already doing. Education is key, and always will be so make sure you know the laws in your state, and stay safe.
