Ruger 10/22 takedown

best survival gun

The Ruger 22s, the Bearcat Revolver and 10/22 takedown

The Ruger 10/22 has been around for decades and has proven its worth. In the takedown version with the accompanying pack, this is a great choice for a survival gun. Chambered in 22 long rifle, it’s very adept at taking small game and even self-defense if it comes down to it. Another plus, you can get 15- and 25-round Ruger factory magazines for this platform. Put a Ruger Mark III pistol or Ruger Bearcat revolver in the case with the take down 10/22 and you have a wonderful little survival pack that shoots the same caliber and can be easily transported.

I have a henry in 357Mag and and a revolver in the same. But i also have Gock19 and a ruger in 9mm and then i would use my Savage Axis in 6.5CM and or 30/06. But then again you cant forget the AR platform with any number of calibers? Which i have also lol But if it came down to it i would p ick the few 9mm handguns i have and the henry and revolver for carrying around. Although i would have to have a few ARs with ammo stashed some place for back up arms and ammo. Can never hurt to have several chases stored around as back ups…..

I have the Henry H0001 Lever action Carbine. It will take 22 LR, 22 Long, and 22 short. It doesn’t break down but it is only about 3 feet long, so still isn’t a problem to carry.

Not exactly the guns I would have selected, but they still have plenty of utility. Essentially, it’s a good .22, a powerful hunting rifle, a MSR for defense, a good reliable shotgun like an 870 or Mossberg 500, and a handgun in 9mm or larger for those last ditch moments.

The great thing about a shot gun for survival is you have a way better chance of taking enough game to survive. Ammo is heavier, but you’ll be less likely to miss that squirrel, or quail, or rabbit, etc. ,and taking big game will be easy.

I like the Henry .22 survival rifle. All the parts ft in the stock. It is light and already is in my bugout box.
