Have You Ever Seen A 4200 Yard Shot?

Have you ever heard of a 4,210 yard shot before? Most people haven't. Sadly, a lot of people can barely hit a target that's 15 yards in front of them. But, every so often a group of people get together with one goal: Pushing the limits of what we know is possible.

These people have gotten together in the past and have taken it out pretty far–but nothing like this…

In fact, they got together this time and couldn't even make any adjustments past 4,000 yards because their equipment only goes that far. They had 200 extra yards to account for, and no way of accurately adjusting for it. The video you're about to watch takes a look at the gear they used and how they pushed a bullet out to almost 2.5 miles.

The shooter, Jim Spinella, wasn't shooting at a huge target, either. His target was a 36 inch steel plate. At that distance, even through a high-powered optic like the NightForce Beast he used, that is a tiny target to be throwing lead at.

My favorite part of this entire video, isn't even whether the shooter hits the target or not. Instead, I like counting how many seconds pass from the the time the bullet leaves the muzzle, until it hits the target. I won't spoil it for you, but it makes you realize just how far away a 4,200 yard target actually is.
