Why I Carry A Gun

Feature | Why I Carry A Gun | Right To Carry

That today's Americans are nuts is one of the reasons why I carry a gun. Well, most of them are, anyway. You look around and see riots breaking out. People are getting the snot kicked out of them for no reason, and a zombie apocalypse is literally right around the corner. Who needs more than one excuse to put a gun in their pocket?

I do realize, however, that there are some people out there who are gun-friendly and yet still need some coaxing into becoming a responsible and armed American citizen. So, here are good reasons to carry a gun:

Why I Carry a Gun | 5 Compelling Reasons

1. People are Nuts

As I said above, people are nuts. And they seem to be getting worse. Especially when you watch the news and see riots, presidential craziness, and plenty of wackos shooting people up in gun-free zones. What's funny, though, is that when you see the guys with the AR-15 slung around their shoulder guarding their business in the middle of a riot, nobody is attacking them. Wonder why? Maybe it's because guns act as deterrents.

2. Zombie Apocalypse

I'm convinced that the zombie apocalypse is already upon us. I mean, I literally look around and see the brain dead all over the place, feeding off the innocent and trying to turn them into zombies, too. Many people believe that, at some point, it will escalate into an uncontrollable problem, forcing us who aren't yet zombies to defend ourselves against the horde. When/if that time comes, it is better to be ready for it. Plus, with all of these brain-sucking liberals voting for socialism–it really makes ya wonder where our country is headed.

3. It's My Right to Carry

It's My Right to Carry | Why I Carry A Gun | Right To Carry

It is your right to do so. We are supposed to have guns to keep people in check and to ensure they don't feel like being tyrants. It's the way our founding fathers wrote the law of the land. They expected responsible, law-abiding American citizens to have guns because they saw the dangers of having people who are unable to protect themselves.

4. Home Defense

If someone decides to break into your home and take your life or try to hurt your family, isn't it best to be able to defend them? Sure, this goes a bit outside the scope of concealed carry, but the same principle carries over. But, then again, this goes back to people being nuts.

5. To Protect Other People

Finally, I carry so I can protect the people. I served in the Marines for four years, starting in 1999, and there is something that is ingrained deep within my soul. I feel like I need to protect everyone. And if I ever feel the need to protect people, I will do so with my very life, if need be.

Unfortunately, most of the leftist community seems to think that our primary reason to own and carry a concealed gun is to hurt people. The very sight of a gun instills great fear in them as if it would just jump out of the holster and start shooting people up.

Thankfully, it seems as if more people are waking up and smelling the coffee. They realize that carrying a concealed weapon is a good idea to protect their loved ones. We know that it is our right to carry and protect in a world that seems less safe with each setting of the sun. Will you be ready if someone attacks your family? I know I will.

Semper Fi, Brother! I served three years in our beloved corps, from 1971 to 1973. I carry every day, even in my home. I’m also, chief of Security at our church here in Greenfield, Tennessee. I carry because, like you, I have that instilled in my heart and soul. I would, without hesitation, lay down my life to protect the innocent. I wear a security uniform at church so that if some nutcase would come into the church they would, first, focus on me instead of our innocent brothers and sisters. Anyway, I carry a Glock 22, 40 cal. One is always in the pipe and ready to go. Locked and loaded!

Yes, I carry my 45 or 9mm everywhere I go! It’s like putting a seat belt on when I get in the car. I don’t expect to be in an accident when I leave my driveway but unfortunately unexpected thing’s happen so that is why I carry. When I go to the grocery store or any other store I don’t expect to encounter a nut job trying to do harm to me, my family, or anyone else.

Josh, I am a proud Viet Nam Vet, Ret. Air Force E-6 Combat engineer. The reason I carry is the same as most to protect self, family and friends. Protecting stuff is secondary and tactically feasible. I home carry a S&W M&P Shield 45 Cal. with one in the chamber. Haven’t had to use it “thank God” but it is close if needed.

I carry also better to have it and not need it than needing and it sitting at home. My Colt Mustang fits right into my pocket and knowone has the first thought of it being there

I carry all the time except at work which I think is unfair to me and the 2 Amendment privilege that we have. I work with the public and it is a scary world out there. I just hope one day my employer will look into this matter. For the time being I feel safe away from work and feel very vulnerable at work. I just hope there is a friendly CCW citizen near me while I’m at work. I wish all you good citizens out there have my support on this matter. Safe day to you all.
