How To Fight With a Knife Knife-Fighting Techniques FEATURE

What do you do if you find yourself in a knife fight? The uninformed set would assume knife-fighting is a simple, blunt, and chaotic engagement, but anyone who has taken a course on how to fight with a knife knows that could not be furthest from truth. Knife defense is actually a very complex practice, and attacking with a knife requires just as much precision and training as defending with one. The “Don't be a Victim” series is designed to teach you self-defense techniques so you can defend yourself in any situation, with anything and everything. Legally we make NO claims that any of these techniques will be 100% effective, as they require substantial training to perfect and every situation is different. This knife fighting course series is purely for informational purposes only. Don't be a victim…but don't be a nimrod either, okay?

Throughout the series, we'll present you with original training techniques from coach Jeremy Pollack from Inner Warrior Coaching, who will cover knife defense, how to disarm a gun from a gunman, and how to use random items such as a belt or stick to defend yourself.  Take hold of Coach Jeremy's  20+ years as a Martial Arts instructor, and Don't be a Victim! You can always find the ongoing series playlist here.

Defensive mindset means you have likely already lost. You are relying on your opponent extending his weapon for you to conveniently counter. I’ve seen plenty of real shankings and other attacks. They don’t happen that way.

Is there a video link or something that could show us a better defense way, or how to handle this situation? I don’t think a defensive mindset means you lost. Nor is coach Jeremy teaching all Defensive. He teaches defensive tactics as to not scare or freak Out the attacker and then he has created his surprising offense. These defenses are for “all of a sudden” situations. If an attack suddenly happens, you must go rely on training and go Into defensive mode. Then offensive. Don’t rely on the attacker to extend his weapon. Using words of surrender, you coax him into how and where to hold the weapon, the rely on training and take offensive measures to wipe him/her clean of the planet.
