The Stoeger Model 3000 is featured with an Inertia Driven system like with the other Stoeger guns. Best used for upland game birds, waterfowl, and wild turkey, this beauty will help you boost confidence in bagging the birds when you're out in the field.

Being an updated version of the M2000, the Stoeger Model 3000 has several notable upgrades. Its receiver is now drilled and tapped, allowing the use of a weaver-style scope base. Both its bolt and barrel extension were upgraded for reliability and strength. It also features a streamlined fore-end cap. The M3000 had been redesigned to have two large locking lugs and a similar rotating camming system found on Stoeger Model 3500. It also got redesigned to effectively capture spring washers. Although not included in the package, a recoil reducer can be attached at its buttstock.

The Stoeger Model 3000 is a reliable gun. It has both strength and solidity compared to the old M2000. The M3000 is economical with a 3-inch chamber. Considering its weight, the recoil was quite manageable. This beauty has a soft and resilient recoil pad, which is another notable improvement from the M2000.

Included in the Stoeger Model 3000 is a shim kit, letting you adjust the stock for both cast and drop. It helps the shooter get used to the stock and shoot where the user is looking.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Shoots clean
  • Fast handling scattergun
  • Lightweight
  • Slim fore-end
  • Versatile

Overall Verdict and Price

The Stoeger Model 3000 has a price range of $600-$680 depending on its type. It has a reasonable price given the upgrades made from the M2000. I would love to use this out in the field for some waterfowling.

For hunters, especially beginners, who want to own a versatile and reliable shotgun but can't afford to buy a Benelli, the Stoeger Model 3000 is what I can recommend. This is a great shotgun for the price you pay and it's a very effective learning tool for beginners. However, as you progress in shooting and hunting, you might want to get yourself a better gun.
