Smith & Wesson was in attendance at the 2016 Great American Outdoor Show with their new little plinkster, the SW22 Victory.
This pistol features a 5.5 inch match-grade barrel that can easily be swapped for a different one, should that sort of thing float your boat. And, it also comes with a picatinny style rail just in case you’d like to install an optic.
Speaking of the things that help us in our accuracy, sitting on top of this little target shooter is a pair fiber optic sights to ensure that you can get on your target quickly. As an added bonus, the rear sight is adjustable to help make sure that you can actually hit your target.
The grip is pretty comfortable in hand, and has textured front and back straps. Furthermore, the side panels can be removed, if you find a different set you’d like to have on it.
The is a single action pistol that comes with an adjustable trigger stop. Then again, pulling the trigger is something that you’ll still only be able to do when you can actually find .22lr ammo at the store. Because, even with production numbers increasing, it is still a hot commodity.
How does it stack up against the competition?
Well, I guess it depends. Personally, I haven’t tested it out just yet. Most shooters won’t sway from their tried and true Rugers, while some swear by the S&W name. As far as .22 target pistols are concerned, there are uglier ones; no offense to the Mark III, but this is a better-looking pistol.
Then again, functionality always trumps beauty, and until we can get our hands on one for Test and Eval, only time will tell.
