Simply because they are useful. It provides greater target acquisition, accuracy and precision. With more and more scope and sight options out there it may be hard to choose what the best one for your firearm would be. Here is a review for the Leupold Mark 4 M5 ER/T and you can decide if it could be the right scope for your gun.
1. Overview
The leupold Mark 4 M5 ER/T (Extended Range Tactical) has a 6-20x50mm magnification.
2. Type of scope
The scope is a 1/10 mil-radian turret. It is a front focal plane allowing full use of the scope on any magnification while retaining exact spacing of the reticle features. The 1/10 mil-rad clicks are very audible.
3. Reticle
This scope has the TMR (Tactical Milling Reticle) which is basically an expansion on existing mil dot reticles by using different sized markings for easier, quicker and more accurate range estimations.
4. Scope use
As you can see at 20x the reticle is clean and sharp. As you can see the scope has great all around field of view, the pig at the bottom is at 320 yards and the rams at the top are at 550 yards.
After some time on the range everything was awesome the turrets were great, it had a sharp reticle, it tracked well and overall it would be an awesome scope for intermediate or advanced shooters.
